2026.08.0706:00:00UTC+00German Industrial Output Slows Sharply in June, Signaling Softer Momentum

Germany’s industrial production growth cooled markedly in June 2026, raising concerns over the strength of Europe’s largest economy’s manufacturing recovery.

According to the latest data updated on 7 August 2026, industrial output rose just 0.2% month-over-month in June. This marks a significant deceleration from May 2026, when production expanded by 0.9% compared with April. The figures are calculated on a month-over-month basis, meaning the current reading reflects the change in June relative to May, while the previous value captures the change in May relative to April.

The sharp slowdown suggests that the momentum seen earlier in the second quarter may be losing steam, with June’s near-flat growth hinting at rising headwinds for German industry as it moves deeper into 2026.
