Indonesian shares advanced 31 points, or 0.5%, to 6,152 in early Tuesday trade, extending gains into a third consecutive session. The move tracked firmer U.S. equity futures, supported by ongoing optimism over artificial intelligence and renewed buyout activity on Wall Street, even as Treasury yields continued to climb.

On the domestic front, sentiment was underpinned by the government’s stepped-up disbursement of social safety-net programs aimed at shoring up household purchasing power toward year-end. Regionally, investors were also positioning ahead of the reopening of mainland Chinese markets on Thursday, following the Golden Week holiday, given China’s role as Indonesia’s key trading partner.

Nonetheless, upside remained limited by caution ahead of several key data releases this week, including September foreign-exchange reserves and the latest consumer sentiment figures. Persistently elevated food inflation also weighed on the outlook, as harvest disruptions linked to severe weather, El Niño, and localized natural disasters continued.

Sector-wise, most groups traded higher, led by technology, energy, and transportation stocks. Gojek Tokopedia climbed 6.9%, followed by Bank Jago, up 3.9%, Medco Energi, up 1.8%, and Bank Tabungan Negara, up 1.4%. On the downside, Hartadinata Abadi slipped 1.4%, Mitra Adiperkasa lost 1.3%, and Telkom Indonesia edged 0.9% lower.
